this piece looks like it has already been stripped and is ready to be finished. Is that correct? and it appears that it is either cherry or walnut (maybe even black walnut). I hope my eyes, aren’t playing tricks on me, cause it looks great!

It’s a great piece. Not sure it’s actually “stripped”, but it has very little finish on it. Perhaps you are correct. Nothing done to it here, listed as is, as arrived, untouched.
Yes, it would be a simple task to finish this piece, and it’s healthy, needs NO work other than a wax or finish.
