Been investigating some visitor maps.

torn between the privacy issues, and the promo value..

while our in-house stats software can anonymize IP’s and follow the best privacy practices, I am not so sure the remote based services do, or will.   Thus…. still investigating.

Nice concept tho.   A couple of plugins exist for wordpress… not yet really happy with any, but a “visitors map” plugin looks possibly fruitful.  Only drawback is the load-time increases substantially.

We work hard to keep our site fast, optimizing to the hilt…..    and not sure that’s the way to go right now.

If you are on a fast server and internet service, it’s definetly an option, though.
